Why I Built Resonate Marketing

Big-Brand Expertise, Small-Business Heart

Before founding Resonate Marketing, I spent 20 years leading marketing, strategy, and execution at two of the world’s largest brands.


Everyone who knows me knows how much I loved my corporate career. The scale, the strategy, the opportunity to shape meaningful projects - it was a journey filled with learning, leadership, and achievements I’m proud to be part of.


But all of a sudden, I knew it was time to build something different. To take everything I had learned - and combine it with something even closer to my heart.


Alongside my corporate career, I grew a dental practice of my own alongside my partner. I know the reality of running a business. I understand the pressure, the responsibility - but also the immense pride of building something of your own that serves the health and wellbeing of others.


Resonate Marketing was born from the belief that I could bring big-brand marketing strategies and execution to dental practice owners:

a passion for people and connecting

If you trace back far enough, my passion for connecting with people starts from when I was just a young child.

 

My family arrived into New Zealand as refugee immigrants from Cambodia. To create a livelihood, my parents started a small business selling fish and chips. 


As a nine-year old taking orders at the front counter, I remember all the regular customers who would come in and enjoy a conversation with my parents - even through their broken English. 


It made me realise that these regulars came for that connection, not just great fish and chips! 


Those times have shaped my beliefs about business and marketing - people and connection are always at the heart


Building something that matters to the people you serve — Means getting to know them, connecting with them as people, drawing them in with resonance.
